Autograph Hell

Really great article worth sharing!   Autograph collector supplies nonprofits with auction items with half the proceeds going to a great cause! Autograph collector Chris Tyson holds a basketball signed by Spurs legend David Robinson. Photo: Kin Man Hui, San Antonio Express-News / ©2012 San Antonio Express-News The silent auction table is a sports fan's dream come true. Framed and signed Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili jerseys rub shoulders with a Masters flag autographed by Fred Couples. For old-school fans, there's a signed photo of former Cowboy Daryl "Moose" Johnston and a basketball inscribed by Spurs great David Robinson, complete with a Scripture addendum. The auction offers enticements for the nonsports fan, too, including a guitar signed by Willie Nelson and autographed photos of comedian George Lopez, actress Eva Longoria, musician Merle Haggard and other ce...

Great article about what to do if you see a celebrity out and about and want to ask them for an autograph! Understand that celebrities are used to people asking them for autographs . They take it in stride, so don't be too nervous. Remember that celebrities are just people . They have real lives and responsibilities; make sure your timing is appropriate for what you want. Fans are appreciated but keep in mind that no one wants to be ambushed exiting the lavatory stall or with a mouthful of dinner at a business meeting. Approach the celebrity . Don't get so close that it annoys them. Say "Hi," tell them your name, and give a light compliment. Do not gush - they don't enjoy it. Ask a question or two. Comment on their latest movie, video, book, or whatever they're famous for. Ask for an autograph by saying "I'd love to have your autograph," or "May I take a picture with you ?" Don't be shy. Be confident and smiley. Ta...

Over the weekend I attended the Arizona Diamondbacks vs. Atlanta Braves baseball game with my wife Rose.  This game was a historical baseball event as it was Chipper Jones' last game as an Atlanta Brave in Chase Field. I was lucky enough to get to meet him and I hope the rest of his last season is as great as the game was at Chase Field! Good luck Chipper!  Chipper and I  Chipper signing autographs  Cool sign from a fan  Ticket stub!  Chipper having fun  Waving to fans  Chipper up to bat To learn more about celebrities I've met, or about the Autograph industry, CLICK HERE to order your copy of my book, Autograph Hell - The Truth About Collecting
