24th Annual Broadway Flea Market

The 24th Annual Broadway Flea Market and Grand Auction will be held on Sunday, September 26 from 10:00am - 7:00pm in Shubert Alley and West 44th Street. This event is a great opportunity for autograph collectors. Named by Time Out New York as one of the "Best Once-a-Year Market", the event is free and open to the public. At this event autograph collectors will have access to signed show posters and Playbills to photographs with Broadway stars. The event also features the Celebrity Autograph Table. Here stars from Broadway, Off-Broadway and Daytime Drama will sign autographs and pose for photos in exchange for donations to Broadway Cares and Equity Fights AIDS.

Fraudulent Presidential Autographs

As I have said before, part of autograph collecting is dealing with the falsified documents. Right now one of the most sought after autographs is the one of the President of the United States, Barack Obama. The video above is by John Reznikoff from the University Archives speaking on how to tell if the autograph is real or not. As I've said in Autograph Hell having your autograph authenticated is the most important part in the process of collecting.
